A powerful, open-source graphical interface for managing your Monero (XMR). Available as a desktop application and browser extension — built for those who demand genuine financial privacy.
Monero GUI brings together the full power of the Monero protocol inside a clean, well-designed desktop interface. From cold storage to live node management, every feature is purpose-built for privacy-conscious users.
The Monero GUI desktop application is built natively for each major operating system. Get full performance and deep OS integration — no browser required, no cloud sync, no compromises.
Extend your Monero GUI experience into the browser. The Monero GUI extension connects to your local desktop wallet and exposes a lightweight interface for checking balances, approving transactions, and managing addresses — without ever sending your keys to the cloud.
Unlike pseudonymous blockchains, Monero's underlying protocol enforces privacy for every participant at the protocol layer. The Monero GUI wallet exposes all privacy controls in a simple, accessible interface.
Every outgoing transaction is signed using a ring of decoy signers selected from the blockchain, making it computationally infeasible for an outside observer to determine which ring member actually authorized the payment. The default ring size in Monero GUI is 16.
Senders generate a one-time destination address for every transaction, derived from your published address using Diffie-Hellman key exchange. This means your wallet address can be shared publicly without linking individual payments to your identity.
Ring Confidential Transactions conceal the value of every transfer using Pedersen commitments. Validators can confirm that no XMR was created or destroyed in the transaction without ever learning the actual amounts sent or received.
Monero GUI supports Dandelion++ transaction propagation, which obscures the IP address of the node that originally broadcast a transaction. This protects your network-level identity even from sophisticated observers monitoring the P2P layer.
Download the Monero GUI wallet in four steps. All builds are distributed with GPG signatures and SHA256 checksums so you can verify the integrity of your download before running it.
Select Windows, macOS, or Linux. Each platform has a dedicated build optimized for that operating system's native libraries and security model.
Download the accompanying GPG signature file and verify it using the published maintainer key. This guarantees the binary hasn't been tampered with in transit.
Run the installer (Windows/macOS) or extract the AppImage (Linux). On first launch, the GUI will guide you through creating or restoring a wallet with a simple setup wizard.
Let your node sync with the Monero network. Once synced, you can send, receive, and monitor XMR with full privacy guarantees enabled by default.
Track recent releases, see what changed, and download older builds when needed for compatibility or verification purposes.
